Hotel Manager Opportunity – Hotel in Samoa

 

Our client is seeking a professional and customer-focused Hotel Manager to oversee our hotel operations. In this position, you will direct the day-to-day operations and activities at the hotel which is located in Apia, Samoa. Your duties will include managing personnel, collecting payments, monitoring budgets, and evaluating hotel performance. To excel in this role, you must be approachable and detail-oriented with proven hospitality and management work experience. Our ideal candidate will also demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The Role:

· The successful candidate will join our team on a 36-month fixed term full time contract, with a view to extend based on performance and company requirements.

· Overall day-to-day management of operational departments across the hotel including overseeing personnel.

· Develop an inspiring and positive work environment that engages the team and maximises team productivity.

· Monitor employee performance and conduct regular evaluations to improve customer service.

· Recruit, train and monitor staff and effectively set rosters to reflect occupancy and business needs.

· Partake in financial activities including establishing room rates, setting budgets, and assigning funds to departments.

· Manage budgets and financial plans to better control expenditure and analyse sales figures and plan Business strategies to maximise profit.

· Aim to meet and exceed budgets every month through revenue and rate strategies which drive positive results and performance across all KPIs.

· Collect payments and maintain records of budgets, funds, and expenses.

· Create and apply a marketing strategy to promote the hotel’s services and amenities.

· Coordinate with external parties including suppliers, travel agencies, conference and event planners to maximise business opportunities.

· Drive guest service initiatives and empower the hotel team to always go the extra mile for our guests.

· Maintain and oversee all areas of maintenance works to a high standard and monitor supplies, fittings, furnishings and equipment.

· Resolve issues regarding hotel services, amenities, and policies.

· Ensure compliance with licensing law, health and safety and other regulations.

· Work closely with the Directors.

The ideal candidate will have:

· A minimum five years proven Management Role in a similar size hotel.

· Fluent in verbal and written English

· To be proactive, strategic, highly driven with a strong service orientation.

· Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal and customer service skills

· Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, a CRS such as Room Master and POS.

· A strong understanding of working with OTAs and Channel Managers and be able to maximise room yields.

· The personality to be able to interact with finesse with all types of house guests and staff in a positive manner.

The job requires a hands-on approach with the ability to resolve problems fast and efficiently. It is crucial to be able to think outside the box and have the ability to prioritise the range of demands that are required on a daily basis. This is a 24/7 role and work hours will be dependent on the day to day demands of the hotel.

The package includes a base-salary, accommodation, return air ticket between Nadi Fiji and Apia Samoa, and all government permits and fees if not already a resident or Citizen of Samoa.
